Guys,
I talked to the Mercruiser people yesterday at the Miami boat show. They are aware of the carb, push rod and valve problems caused by the Ethenol in the fuel supply. Their answer was don't use any fuel with Ethenol,and they don't have a fix for the problem yet. Sounds like a catch 22 program to me. I confrimed that they are having the same problems with their outboard engines also.Check with your marina or fuel supply dealer and demand Ethenol free gasoline. I'm afraid it's only going to get to be a major hassle this summer. They confirmed that the Ethenol 85 that is now in the Mid West, is causing major problems with their engines, both inboard and outboards. Time to really put the pressure on our elected officals to clear up this issue or we will all be playing golf instead of fishing.
