Fuel tankproblem

I have a '72 Bahia Mar Signature Series that falls into this ethanol situation.

The question is: If the tank goes bad, could I cut the top off of the tank and put in new leak resistant fiber glass(if there's a product out there) OR could I insert a plastic tank inside the old fiber glass shell?

What are other guys thinking?
