bruce the bert came with a glass tech deck and i removed the port and starboard hatches and made the fish boxes the forward starting point to the stern allowing a few inches in front of steering box.incidently i used buck algonquin transon exhaust fitting 6" connected to water/exhaust flex marine (blue stripe uscg) 12'6" that put the muffler as far foward as possible(deeper hull going forward)and the deck had 11/2" clearance but the deck stiffener hit so i ground down glass over than made one foward and one aff of the muffler.personly i wouldn`t have the ba--s to take another inboard in the ocean without a muffler or surge tube lost 3 in my life one of tham mine bent L-88 dimple rods in half!!!! ouch!! i half turn of the starter call me engine slug bob.
