No, it was validated to me by Montauk Marine Basin who got it directly from their fuel supplier. The new fuel has a 30-60 day shelf life. If you're not going to use it, you better stabilize it big time. If your marina has a full tank all winter and doesn't have any winter business, watch out in the Spring. Their advice (for the first time I've ever heard ever), is to winter store as close to empty as possible. The shelf life is not a fiberglass tank/ethanol thing, it's your outboard tank, home lawnmower, leaf blower fuel too. If they care so much about the environment, perhaps they ought to set up dumping stations for the old fuel that's being disposed of in manners that we won't talk about. Local facilities won't accept it until "Hazardous Waste Day" in the Spring. Great!
