NJ is something like second only to Texas in refining of gas. So a ton of it comes out of NJ for the NorthEast and almost every brand comes out of Bayway near Newark. Thats one reason outside of the tax differential, NJ gas has been a little less (up until this summer) than other states nearby, trucking costs are less. At the time the truck loads up, thats when the additives are put in and it then goes to the appropriate brand station based on the additive. I heard of only a handful of stations getting ethanol but next year will probably be a whole new ball game. I still have a hard time believing the tank is slowly breaking down. I still think its crud, the mixture of MBT with the alcohol and as Bruce noted on another post some diesal fuel somehow mixed in. But only time will tell. Tony Meola
