Charlie-Whatever it is, the problem is spreading. People like Randall and I, who thought we didn't have the problem, now do. Each of us also know at least two or three other locals who are dealing with it. One of the new theories I have heard is that MEK the epoxy hardener is a component part of Ethanol and it's the hardener that is being affected by it. You sound like you know your chemistry. Is that possible? A 31 Bertram that was just bought here in Montauk had it's fiberglass tank flushed and cleaned before the sale. It has caused the new owner to re-tank the boat with aluminum before it would perform to specs again. I predict we'll hear a lot more on this in the Spring of '06 after a winter of "cooking". Walter
