According to Montauk Marine Basin's Carl Darenberg Jr., our (NY, NJ and Conn.) gasoline's now have a shelf life of only 30 days. If you buy your fuel from low-volume marinas, the fuel you buy in the spring is going to be real crappy. He recommends that the common practice of winterizing with full tanks be reversed. Store as close to empty as possible. If you trailer your boat, refill in the spring from a gas station. The Ethanol demon is really going to show it's head in the 2006 season. Seems the MEK used as fiberglass hardener is also a component part of Ethanol. Softens the hardener as it sits. I have to rethink what the hell I'm going to do to solve this on my B-20. Whatever I do, it's going to cost money. Just a matter of how much! Walter
