A couple of yrs ago, I was caught in the North Atlanic with rough weather and only a quarter tank of gas. I was a long trip. The next day, I took my filters apart at the tank and never saw a dirtier situation. It was a wonder the starboard engines even ran. Then it became a mental problem as I figuered tha tank had an awful lot of crud. So I took the oval plate off the tank and pump the bottom. No crud. Thinking about it, I thought that I didn't get to the bottom pocket with the crud. Pumped again to no avail. Very little sedment comes from the filters nowadays and just a little water.
This tank leaking thing has me upset. Is it an bomb just waiting to go off??
By the way, the gas dock switched to 89 octane and the price was $3.02 US gallon.
