Last year I was running the Mercruiser spin on filters that I got the boat with. In the very beginnng I had lots of sediment, then really nothing. No water, no goo, but I did have a small layer of cloudy fluid at the bottom which I was told is the alcohol mixxing with water. The whole container was that orangy brown color shown

This year I went with a 2 Stage Fram filters that are supposed to remove Tar/Varnish and filter down to 1 micron. The filters come out dark, but not all that bad, then again I only run 10 hours or so before I change em. Fuel looks good so far. Not the brown I had last year.
