I talked to De-Bug people at length several years ago. They had the original idea for magnetic bug killers, from New Zealand. Algae-X was a dealer for De-Bug, came up with their own, Amurican made unit that is more compact, inside a slid block of aluminum, whereas the De-Bug is partly cler plastic, kinda looks like a Racor filter. I bought from Algae-X because De-bug did not respond to repeated requests for information on local dealers (there weren't any) - or anything else. They still advertised in Boats & Harbors, just would not respond to either email or phone. If you van reach them, I'm sure they work, and work well. The De-Bug guy I talked to was more knowledgeable and sounded less like a snake oil salesman that the Algae-X rep I talked to on the phone.
